The press is currently open for queries. Please follow the guidelines below. We will remain open until at least midnight on Valentine’s Day (February 14).

- Query first with up to five poems by email to greybookpress (at) gmail (dot) com. Subject line: “SUBMISSIONS – [LAST NAME] – [TITLE]”
- We’ll reply to your email if we want to see the whole manuscript. Or we’ll respond with our regrets. Or we might not respond at all (but we’ll try to respond to as many as we can). If you don’t get a response, feel free to reach out on the status . . . but wait until the query period closes.
- Manuscripts should have between 16 and 24 pages of poems.
- The goal is to choose at least two manuscripts for publication. Runs will either be open-ended with 25 author copies or limited editions of 50 (in which case, 15 author copies).
- The goal is to get through all the queries by late Spring.

In selecting chapbooks for publication, we usually aim for “range” in across accepted manuscripts. For instance, if we chose multiple manuscripts from one query period, we may have one that would be the best/most resonant manuscript, and other selected manuscript(s) would be “different” from that one in some way.
If you have any questions not answered/addressed here, let us know at the email listed above.
